Administrative Assistant - SVIP Program

Job Overview

The San Francisco Street Violence Intervention Program is a street outreach and crisis response initiative created to reduce and intervene in youth related street violence for the City and County of San Francisco. We are currently looking for full time Administrative Assistant to support the administrative operations of the San Francisco Street Violence Intervention Program. San Francisco street violence refers to any severe conflict perpetuated by rival territories which may be initiated by turfs or other street associations’ rivalry.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities: Generate and type reports and letters. Data entry for various needs and services. Keep accurate budget records. Photocopying and faxing for staff as requested. Monitor and order office supplies. Maintain office files, records and forms.

Communication Responsibilities: Maintain accurate phone lists for staff and all auxiliary agencies. Assist staff, clients and other professionals contacting the office. Answer and route telephone calls.

Documentation Responsibilities: Maintain the billing system including data entry and statistical reporting. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive personnel and client documents and information.


Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Required:

  • Experience working in an administrative role within a violence prevention program.
  • Experience or in depth knowledge of best practices in violence prevention, community. empowerment, alternatives to incarceration, youth development and public safety.
  • Familiarity with all San Francisco’s neighborhoods and community programs.
  • Experience collaborating across government agencies and facilitating multi-agency processes.

Background Clearance Required:

  • Ability to clear and maintain fingerprint clearance.
  • Must not be on active probation or parole.

Knowledge Required:

  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.
  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.

Compensation: $43,000.00
Type: Hourly/ Non-exempt
