The Lyon Martin/Women’s Community Clinic Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) has a special focus on the needs of the LGBTQ community and women’s health issues. The BHT is responsible for providing clinically and culturally competent outpatient mental health and substance use disorder services in a medical setting to clinic patients, including crisis intervention, brief behavioral interventions, psychosocial assessments, supportive short-term counseling/psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, substance use disorder treatment, and appropriate internal/external referrals. The BHT is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, and to function as part of an integrated care team. The BHT will work collaboratively as part of an integrated health care team. The BHT may be required to work evenings and weekends.
