On-Call Counselor - Women's Residential

If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill an On-Call Counselor position opening at our Prototypes, Mother and Child Residential Homes in Tustin, CA! The ideal candidate has experience working with mothers and children, knowledge of a residential treatment setting, and utilizing Microsoft Office. In this position you will join a highly trained team, provide wrap around treatment services for addiction, mental health parenting, and self -sufficiency, and make meaningful changes for a vulnerable population. Prototypes, at the beautiful Tustin Family Campus, is an 18 month residential treatment program serving 15 mothers with up to 32 children. All residents have open Child and Family Service Cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises mothers and children during various shifts at a 24/7 residential treatment facility.
  • Oversee mothers' work related to independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, meal planning, shopping, etc.)
  • Monitors parent child interactions to ensure safety and well being of children.
  • Provides timely accurate documentation regarding client activity.
  • Supports treatment team through administrative duties relating to tracking and documentation
  • Maybe required to drive company vehicle to transport clients or go shopping

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Successful applicants will be Certified Substance Abuse Counselors valid in the state of CA or registered interns working toward certification. Hours worked will count towards certification.
  • Prefer 1-2 years experience working in a treatment program, preferably residential.
  • Prefer 1-2 years experience working with Mothers and Children. 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • California Driver's License with proof of insurance
