On Call Nurse - Women's Residential

Are you team-oriented and self-aware?  Interested in monitoring medications and providing medical triage and case management?  Are you empathetic and passionate about providing care to women and women with children?  If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill a Nurse position opening at our Women's Residential program in Pomona, CA!  The ideal candidate has experience with residential care and trauma informed services.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience providing care to women and children.  In this position you will gain experience in a dynamic multi-disciplinary team while helping the under served in a position with flexible hours.  Sound interesting?  Below you will find a more detailed description of some of the duties and requirements for this position.

Prototypes Women's center is a 180 bed residential facility for women and women with children. We provide comprehensive substance use disorder, mental health, and psychiatric care by an interdisciplinary team of professionals. In addition, out facility specializes in serving the criminal justice population. Successful candidates thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessments of service needs.
  • Recommend medical interventions to client and/or team as appropriate.
  • Observes client medication administration.
  • Performs basic health screenings including vital signs.
  • Completes/assists with the completion of client health histories.
  • Completes facility incident reports within the agency guidelines and timeframes with quality documentation.
  • Completes client missed medication sheets.
  • Completes client medical treatment goals with appropriate updates to treatment plan as needed. 
  • Coordinate medical and psychiatric services with other involved services providers.
  • Ensure that client medication line times are appropriately held, and client’s medical needs are addressed.
  • Assist with making medical/psychiatric appointments
  • Provide follow-up to ensure services are obtained.
  • Provides medical education and advocacy as needed.
  • Provides medical crisis intervention and triages clients as needed within scope of practice.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with community partners to ensure clients receive well rounded treatment services to meet their medical and psychiatric needs

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse or Psychiatric Technician
  • Experience working with dual diagnosis populations
  • Good time management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Bilingual language skill preferred, English and the predominant other language natural to the community where the facility is located.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Strong Computer skills.
  • Dependable automobile and insurance, registration and valid California Drivers License.
  • Knowledge and respect of all confidentiality issues.
  • People oriented.
