Do you have experience with mental health counseling?  Are you bilingual in Vietnamese?  Are you registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences?  Are you passionate about helping people make and sustain change in their lives?  If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill a clinician position opening at our Project Phoenix program in San Jose, CA!  The ideal candidate has experience with counseling (mental health, behavioral health, co-occuring disorders, substance use disorders), MediCAL documentation, and case report documentation and health record systems.  In this position you will gain understanding of the dynamics of co-occuring and integrated services, as well as training in and implementation of multiple evidence-based models (BBS hours sign-off available!).  Sound interesting? The clinician will be serving adult clients who are a participating in mental health treatment services.  Clients will range from Level 1 to Level 3 needs, with many needing co-occurring treatment services.  The clinician provides individual and group therapy based on individualized assessments and treatment planning. Intensity of services is based on the client's stage of change and response to treatment.  The environment is enriching and nurturing for staff and clients alike, and while fast-paced and challenging, it is also very rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates intakes/orientations, comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment planning, crisis, collateral, case management and individual /group counseling sessions with clients
  • Performs crisis intervention and works with treatment team to stabilize crisis situations.  clinicians will share in an after-hours crisis line rotation
  • May be asked to work on a weekend or during after-hours for crisis stabilization, community education, resource fairs, and special events
  • Collaborates with each caseload client and other available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client
  • Properly documents all individual and group counseling sessions, attempts to contact, and completes the discharge paperwork/process and required agency assessments in timely manner via electronic health records
  • Maintains a 60% productivity requirement

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field with current registration with Behavioral Board of Sciences (BBS).  Pending BBS registration will be considered.
• First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment 
• CPR Certified within 30 days of employment
• Valid California driver’s license 

• Ideal candidate will also have extensive experience with substance abuse treatment including certification/registration with a Drug and Alcohol Certification program recognized by DHCS
• Licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences
• Knowledge of /Experience with MediCAL documentation standards
