Job Overview

Prototypes, at the beautiful Tustin Family Campus, is an 18 month residential treatment program serving 15 mothers with up to 32 children. All residents have open Child and Family Service Cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income.

Key Responsibilities

The clinician will provide weekly 1:1 therapy to mothers and children for whom these services are indicated. The clinician will partner with the Child Care Parenting Specialist to develop and oversee the Parenting Skills Program, a family centered program which has the ultimate goal of helping parents to provide a healthy and safe environment for their children and to maximize their children's emotional and cognitive development.

• Provide individual assessments on all clients at intake and as indicated throughout treatment. 
• Provide Individual counseling with parents and children as needed.
• Provide developmental assessments and screening of children as needed.
• Documentation in clients records.
• Participation in team and staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Some evening and weekend hours may be required and 24 hour/7 days per week telephone on-call for emergencies
• Collaborating with the Program Manager and Program Supervisor, participate in the selection of Evidence Based Family Programming
• Manage MSW intern activity with CFUF. 

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•• LCSW or LMFT required
• A minimum of 2 years experience providing family and child clinical services or  parenting education and training with a culturally diverse population. 
• Knowledge and experience of substance abuse issues and treatment is highly desired. 
• Oversee assigned MSW Interns when applicable 
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively within a community-based setting.  
• Individual must have strong verbal communication skills. Writing must be clear, precise and professional.  
• Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable.
• California Driver’s License required with proof of insurance.
• Must have 2 years experience working in a residential treatment setting with women challenged by addiction
• Must have 1-2 years experience working with Mothers and Children.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Must have California Driver's License with proof of insurance
