Compliance Coordinator

Job Overview

The Compliance Coordinator will be working with our Santa Clara Outpatient Program to ensure that we follow all MH Medi-Cal documentation standards. This position is responsible for reviewing chards and for providing oversight of all internal tracking systems to ensure that all programs complies with MH Medi-Cal requirements. Responsible for all internal and external program audits; works with clinical supervisors, program managers and/or directors on development and execution of corrective action plans. In conjunction with clinical supervisors/directors, provide trainings to staff on documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for compliance and quality assurance of all mental health programs per Short-Doyle Medi-Cal and HIPAA standards
  • Responsible for the integration of behavioral health programs and compliance department to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Coordination and collaboration with billing (IS) office as necessary
  • Provide oversight of all internal tracking systems to ensure that all programs complies with MH Medi-Cal requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all documentation complies with MH Medi-Cal standards
  • In conjunction with clinical supervisors/directors, provide trainings to staff on documentation requirements
  • Responsible for the utilization review process and participates in utilization review committee
  • Responsible for all internal and external program audits; works with clinical supervisors, program managers and/or directors on development and execution of corrective action plans
  • Responsible for maintenance of internal tracking reports and update on a regular basis
  • Attend internal meetings as assigned (which may result in traveling to various local Counties)
  • Attend external meetings as assigned; May be the lead agency representative at specific County Quality Assurance meetings
  • Arrangement of work schedule in accordance with the agency’s needs
  • Compliance with agency’s policies and procedures

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Familiarity with Short-Doyle Medi-Cal regulatory requirements
  • Must not be on active parole or probation
  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self sufficiency
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications
  • Knowledge of Clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.)
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
  • Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and reliability are imperative

  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

Desired

  • Master’s Degree in related field; BBS registered
  • Background in compliance or auditing
Compensation: $65,000.00
