Development Associate

Job Overview

This full-time position focuses on supporting the marketing and administrative needs of the department. As an integral member of the Philanthropy team, s/he will create and implement our marketing and event related projects, as well as perform fundraising related administrative tasks. 

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities: 

  • Create and maintain content calendars and other administrative organizational tools for the Development team.
  • Compiles and updates lists and spreadsheets as needed for events and correspondence/appeals.
  • Assists in preparation of Development Department mailings.  
  • Compiles data for the Annual Report, Website, Facebook, other agency literature/communication. 
  • Orders supplies and generates department Purchase Orders.
  • From time to time may work on special projects for the Vice President of Development. 

Marketing Responsibilities: 

  • Develop marketing materials to promote organization and fundraisers.
  • Monitor, update and create outgoing content including social media posts, email marketing communications, videos, appeals and more.
  • Recruit and cultivate photographer and videographer volunteers.
  • Assist with scheduling pick-ups for in-kind donations and sending thank you letters to donors.
  • Help research new sources for in-kind donations and outreach to new corporate partners.
  • Support development team in a variety of special projects and ongoing administrative tasks.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, preferably Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, etc. or 2 years work equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment that requires strong multitasking skills, excellent time management, and self-starter mentality.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up, and able to work in a team environment.
