Facility Monitor

Job Overview

Prototypes Community Prisoner Mother Program  is an in-custody, long term residential program located on the campus of Prototypes Women's Center in Pomona. Prototypes is a 180 bed facility providing substance abuse and mental health services to women and women with children.

The facility monitor provides program supervision for late afternoon, evening, or graveyard shifts as scheduled by Program Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Registered SUD Counselor.
  2. Supervises mothers and children during all assigned shifts.
  3. May oversee mothers’ work related to independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, meal planning, shopping, etc.)
  4. Monitors parent child interactions to ensure safety and well being of children.
  5. Assists with community outings.
  6. Documentation in client records.
  7. Transport clients, as needed
  8. Contacts Program Director, Supervisor, Child/Family Specialist or Case Manager if consultation related to program issues is needed during shifts.
  9. Maintain and observe all HIPAA regulations that apply.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Registered or certified substance abuse counselor.
  2. Enrollment in an alcohol and drug certification program leading to certification.
  3. A minimum of two years experience in a substance abuse treatment setting.
  4. Basic understanding of child development, child abuse, substance abuse and self sufficiency issues.
  5. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  6. California Driver’s License with proof of insurance.
  7.  Minimum age of 21 (based on Orange County contractual requirements).
