Job Overview

Prototypes Women's Center-Oxnard provides detoxification and residential substance abuse treatment to women. Our program is unique in that women can bring their children in to treatment with them, so they do not have to separate from their children to get services. Our goal is to help stabilize women in their recovery and transition them to outpatient services, stable housing, a new support group and employment/school.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive screenings and assessments in evaluating potential client’s level of care service needs. 
Respond to all inquiries and referrals
Provide screening and assessments to demonstrate medical necessity for admissions to treatment.
Collect clinical data
Coordinates screenings, admissions, and referrals
Ensures that all admissions are authorized with appropriate documentation
Process all necessary paperwork on new clients in a timely manner and in accordance with established protocols.
Function as a core member of the treatment team
Provide additional client support during the client’s orientation phase of treatment
Participates in community meetings as req’d by funders and acts as a liason with referring agencies
Understand contract requirements in order to maintain full utilization of allotted bed days according to these requirements
Understand and comply with intake documentation as required by managed care.
Screen for managed care and private pay clients.
Participate in outreach to referring agencies to ensure full utilization of contracts. Coordinate services with other involved services providers.
Provides counseling and advocacy as needed.
Provide crisis intervention as needed within scope of practice. Develop collaborative relationships with community partners.
Communicate effectively with inter-disciplinary team and participate in team meetings to review cases.
Observe and document relevant and required information regarding each client.
Develop and maintain a positive work climate and support the overall mission and values of the organization.Maintain and observe all HIPAA regulations that apply.


Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Current Degree: MA, MSW or Ph.D./Psy.D. from a regionally accredited graduate program in the field of psychology or counseling psychology.  
• Must be licensed or registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences and possess a valid registration number as an MFT, LCSW or LPCC
• Required experience: Possession of Master’s Degree and up to one year of clinical experience in delivering mental health services to adults and/or children.  
• Preferred experience: Two years of clinical experience, and experience working in Substance Abuse Treatment, knowledge of Drug Medical benefits.
• Valid CA driver’s license and current automobile insurance also required.
