Job Developer - FOTEP Residential

Job Overview

The Job Developer works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate and deliver vocational/employment services to residential participants within a Trauma Informed Gender Responsive treatment community. The Job Developer links participants with vocational/educational training programs and employment opportunities. The Job Developer facilitates skill building in relation to vocational, educational and occupational goals.

You will be working in an environment that is fast paced, multidisciplinary and geared towards the person served.
Your input is valuable as part of a team effort to help our clients to successfully gain employment and maintain long term stability in the community.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop resumes for clients with minimal job experience.
  • Facilitate classes surrounding employment, and computer basics.
  • Establish community resources for linking services for the person served.
  • Motivate clients to seek employment.
  • Work with team members in collaborative effort to assist the person served.
  • Attend community based events as the representative for the program.
  • Transport clients to job training events, parole units for monthly meetings.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be highly proficient with computers.
  • Must be highly proficient with resume building for others.
  • Must be a self starter.
  • Must have experience working as a job developer or employment specialist.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with criminal justice population is preferred.
  • Must be able to teach classes surrounding computer workshops and employment preparation.
  • CCAPP or CAADE certification preferred in order to submit referrals to community partners.
