If so, HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking for a part time Kitchen Coordinator at our Discovery Center program in Escondido, CA! The Discovery Center is a child development center open to the public, serving children from birth to 5 years old. We serve a variety of children, many who have unique challenges facing them including coming from families burdened with poverty, substance use disorders, and little formal education. Key Responsibilities

The Kitchen Coordinator will be working in a busy and occasionally noisy environment so the ideal candidate must have excellent time management skills, strong math skills, and be proficient with operation of kitchen equipment and appliances.  There may be a number of activities and situations happening at once.  Meals served must meet the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and agency requirements for children ages 0-5 years old. In addition, the Kitchen Coordinator also:

  • Plans, prepares, and delivers meals and/or snacks
  • Monitors kitchen activities and complies with county and state licensing, sanitation and safety regulations
  • Performs visual validation of received merchandise to description and package details from the vendor
  • Ensures that the accurate food and milk quantities are distributed to each classroom and also ensures that meals are served at proper temperature and family style
  • Responsible for inventorying food and food service items
  • Ensures that the kitchen is always maintained in a high state of cleanliness and that good personal hygiene for all personnel working in the kitchen is enforced
  • Keeps the kitchen cleaned and sanitized, including, but not limited to: dishes, counters, storage areas, refrigerator, freezer, stove, walls, and floors

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Food Handlers Certification
  • Preferred candidates will have child development units
Compensation: $14.42
Type: Hourly/ Non-exempt
