Medical Assistant

Job Overview

Are you a calm, empathic team player with great organizational skills? Do you want to work for an organization that is making a difference in counties across California? Are you passionate about providing health care in a team-oriented model to the LGBT community and creating a professional environment where patients are treated with dignity, compassion and respect?

HealthRIGHT 360 is currently looking to fill a Medical Assistant opening at Lyon Martin Health Services in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate has 2 years of direct patient care experience working in a community health or primary care setting, with populations of varying lifestyles, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic status and histories of homelessness and addiction.  In this position you will gain experience in providing hands on transgender healthcare as a part of a health center with a national reputation in transgender health. Sound interesting? Below you will find a more detailed description of some of the duties and requirements for this position.

Lyon-Martin Health Services (LMHS) is a fast-paced, innovative community health center in San Francisco. We are warm, welcoming, non-judgmental and down-to-earth. Our patients are lesbians, bisexual and heterosexual women, transgender and genderqueer/nonbinary people who are diverse in age, diverse in ethnicity and diverse in social circumstance.

The health center was founded in response to a lack of understanding for how to provide evidence-based health care to lesbians. Today, the health center responds to gaps in care for all cisgender women and transgender people, providing primary care and integrated behavioral health services to create a medical "home" for our patients.  LMHS stands at the forefront of lesbian and transgender health care issues, and has assumed a position of national prominence in the area of LGBT health services.

In March of 2015, we underwent a strategic merger with HealthRIGHT 360. While preserving each organization’s unique specializations and orientation to care, the strategic alliance bolsters both groups in the changing landscape of healthcare under the full implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

We are looking for an intelligent, dynamic individual to join our team.  The ideal candidate understands that offering patients a professional setting where they are treated with dignity, respect and compassion isn’t just an ideal; it is the way and reason that we run our organization.
