Occupational Therapy Clinical Team Leader - Children's Program

Job Overview

Are you passionate about helping children, adults, and families achieve family wellness? Do you have experience working with this population and understand the challenges that families face? Prototypes, a program of Healthright 360, is currently looking for a Licensed Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate is passionate about the OT Profession and possesses an ability to train graduate-level students in a mental health setting. This candidate has experience working as part of a collaborative team and possesses excellent time management and documentation skills. Additionally, this candidate will be knowledgeable about children, adults, and families, as well as the systems that surround them. Knowledge of Infant OT a plus. Spanish speaking language ability is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide OT services to clients/families, including providing services where the client lives and/or attends school.
  • Supervise graduate level OT students from accredited Universities.
  • Develop treatment care plan tailored to the "person in environment", incorporating sensory strategies and related age-appropriate needs & coping skills.
  • Conduct collateral sessions with caregivers and other services providers (Teachers, Therapists, Case Manager) to promote use of effective treatment strategies.  
  • Provide referral/linkage and parenting services to parents/caregivers of assigned clients.
  • Support Adult Mental Health Programming through the provision of OT services.
  • Serve as care coordinator for clients as assigned. Responsibilities include coordination of all services with other providers and completion of all coordinated care documentation.
  • Co-facilitate and lead psycho-social rehabilitation groups.
  • Familiarize self with service area resources, and when appropriate, assist with resource linkage.
  • Complete DMH documentation
  • Assist in crisis and symptom management.
  • Office, home, school, and field-based services.

 

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • MA, MS, or OTD from regionally accredited graduate program.  

         - One year post-licensure, preferably with experience in a mental health setting.

  • Current NBCOT Registration and CBOT License.  
  • Must complete HIPAA training upon hire.
  • Must be able to pass background/criminal check.
  • Valid CA Driver License and  Valid CA Automobile Insurance.
  • Preferred Knowledge Includes: Trauma-Informed care, 0-5 years old.
  • Fluent Spanish speaking ability preferred, not required.
