Peer Partner - TAY-IST

This is a union position.

AARS Peer Partner position supports people in our community who are most impacted by mental health or substance use limitations and poverty. Peer Partners provide peer support, assistance with linkage to resources, support with orientating clients to intakes/discharges, and coordinate services with our clients. They do this by providing compassionate, integrated care, at a personal and caring level.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Lived experience as a client, or someone who coped with mental or substance use limitations.
  • First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Valid California driver’s license.

Not required but, extra awesome:

  • Ideal candidate will also have extensive experience with substance abuse treatment including certification/registration with a Drug and Alcohol Certification program recognized by DHCS.
  • Knowledge of /Experience with MediCAL documentation standards.

In compliance with the California Department of Public Health's mandate, all employees must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Medical and religious exemptions are available.
