Job Overview

AARS/HealthRIGHT 360 provides culturally and linguistically proficient outpatient behavioral healthservices in Santa Clara County. AARS/HealthRIGHT 360's behavioral health programs specialized in treatment services for the Asian and Pacific Islander (A/PI) communities, but has proven to be effective in working with diverse communities at large. Clients in our mental health and Co-occurring disorder programs range from 18 years old and over. Services include Intake and Assessment, Treatment Planning, Group and Individual Counseling, Case Management and Psychiatric Services.  Most services are provided at clinic/agency site, and at times, can be provided in the community, in-home or through telehealth.  We are looking for dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic staff who want to make a positive impact in our client's lives as well as in the community.

The Psychiatrist is primarily responsible for the provision of psychiatric care, medication management and intervention services to Adults and/or Children receiving behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities

Psychiatry Responsibilities:  Assesses patients and analyzes patient data/evaluations to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorders.  Prescribes, directs and administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.  Gathers and maintains patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives or other professionals.  Design individualized care plans.

Analysis Responsibilities:  Collaborates with physicians, psychologists, social workers, therapists and other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress. 

Agency Development/Support Responsibilities: Participates in the clinic performance improvement program.  Participates and completes corrective action plan for ongoing audits related to psychiatric care.  Provide consultation to clinical staff as appropriate.

Services to occur in person and/or through telepsychiatry.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience

Required: MD degree in psychiatry, Three to five years experience as a licensed psychiatrist,

Licensure as a physician/psychiatrist in the State of California, without any limitations on his/her license to practice in his/her specialty.

Desired:  Board Certified in Psychiatry, preferred. Previous management training, skills and experience in a similar post preferred. Knowledge of third party payer regulations, California practice guidelines and malpractice laws, Title 22, Bureau of Primary Care and state funding sources preferred. Experience with Telepsychiatry.

 Background Clearance

-Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications

-Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self sufficiency

Desired:

-Experience or Knowledge of best practices for telepsychiatry

-Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment

-Knowledge of Clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.)

-Experience working with criminal justice population

-Bilingual in one of Santa Clara County’s threshold languages – Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Chinese dialects, Farsi
