Job Overview

The “small but mighty” development and marketing team plays a crucial role in ensuring HealthRIGHT 360 meetings ongoing program needs through donations and special events.

The Special Events Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of the agency wide in-person and virtual events. Coordinate and lead all event committees.  Handle all aspects of auctions.

Key Responsibilities

Event Management Responsibilities:  Coordinates with Philanthropy and Marketing team, other organization staff, and outside vendors to plan and implement all aspects of agency-wide in-person and virtual events.  This is including, but not limited to, Be the Change, Black Tie and Tie Dye, Celebrating Mothers, as well as donor  cultivation events.  Manages and cultivates relationships with committees associated with each event.   Coordinates and leads meetings and communications with all committees. Assists with assessment of completed events in reaching goals and recommend changes that may be beneficial to maximize success in the future. Identifies and evaluates potential new fundraising events.

Donor Relationship Management Responsibilities: Cultivates relationships with volunteers and donors to secure auction items and other event sponsorship donations.  Sends prompt acknowledgement letters within 24 hours for auction items.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or five-years work equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and implementing major events.
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating relationships and making asks.
  • Experience with Raisers Edge database management preferred.
  • Experience with in-kind donation program.

Background Clearance Required:

  • Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
  • Must not be on active parole or probation. 

Knowledge Required:

  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.

  • Ability to successfully and effectively represent HealthRIGHT 360 in diverse forums and maintain broad organizational relationships.
