SUD Counselor II/III - Re-Entry Admin Support

Job Overview

This position is for our DMC funded, residential substance abuse treatment program supporting the Women's Second Chance Re Entry Drug Court.

The Re-Entry Administrative Assistant is a registered substance use disorder professional who maintains registration from an approved/accredited California agency. The Re-Entry Administrative Assistant is responsible for tracking re-entry clients services and progress. The Re-Entry Administrative Assistant ensures all court reports are complete and provide correct information about the client’s progress in treatment. The Re-Entry Administrative Assistant works in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure best possible treatment outcome for the client and provide treatment in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360’s philosophy, goals, policies, mission and vision. The Re-Entry Administrative Assistant may provide treatment utilizing different modalities including individual and/or group. Services may be provided in: outpatient office, residential treatment, or the field, based on client and program need.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Attending court twice per week with Drug Court clients and acting as liasion between treatment and court staff
  • Screens drug court candidates for placement and suitability for program
  • Utilizes trauma informed care while applying motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the treatment team including the Case Manager, Clinical Therapist, Medical, and Psychiatrist
  • Maintains frequent communication with the treatment team and engages in regular consults, clinical team, case conferences, and plan development meetings
  • Delivers services in outpatient treatment setting
  • Responsible for treatment oversight of the clients on their caseload
  • Maintains compliance with due dates for all clinical documentation
  • Writes client progress letters and court reports and obtains final approval from the supervisor 
  • Documentation must maintain in compliance with agency policy and procedures, HIPAA, 42-CFR, DMH, and SAPC standards

 

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Certified or Registered substance abuse counselor
  • Completion/near completion of Alcohol and Drug Counseling education for certification
  • A minimum of two year's experience in a supported housing environment 
  • Experience working with substance abusers and/or re-entry populations
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
