Job Overview

FOTEP TI is a Residential Treatment Facility for previously incarcerated women and their children. The focus is on Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Behavior Management, and Employment. It deals with a diverse population of women on parole who have had AOD and Mental Health concerns. The program is based on a Gender Responsive and Trauma Informed Framework.

Key Responsibilities

Individual Treatment Responsibilities

  • Manages an individual therapy caseload
  • Performs individual psychotherapy services in a residential setting
  • Provides counseling, support, and psycho-education about HIV for triple diagnosed individuals that include screening clients for appropriate levels of services, assessments, treatment planning, case management, and referrals
  • Maintains confidentiality while working as part of a treatment team and adhering with program norms
  • Participates in case conferences, treatment planning and clinical discussions to provide holistic care
  • Communicates with prescribing psychiatrists regarding psychotropic medication compliance, side effects, and follow-up appointments

Treatment Setting Responsibilities

  • Facilitates/co-facilitates process and psycho-educational groups for chronically mentally ill adults with co-morbid substance abuse diagnoses
  • Assists Intake Department with initial psychological assessments for individuals seeking admission to program
  • Assists clients and their care coordinators with referrals and other linkages to community resources
  • Performs floor duties in the milieu that include (but are not limited to): assisting clients in coordinating outside appointments and transportation, overseeing client participation in program activities, monitoring medications compliance, and mediating client conflict when it arises
  • Actively participate with the treatment team to continuously assess and refine clinical programming efforts
  • Manages client risk and crisis intervention

Documentation Responsibilities

  • Conducts mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, completes release and consent forms, billing and reporting paperwork in hard copy and online in various electronic systems
  • Documents individual and group services delivered in various electronic systems in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Masters level degree in Marriage & Family Therapy or Social Work, or a doctoral degree in Psychology
  • Must be registered and in good standing with BBS or BOP
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of working with women in a residential treatment setting as well as their families
  • Specialized knowledge such as family therapy and Celebrating Families, Seeking Safety, life skills, anger management, criminal behavior, crisis intervention
  • Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability are imperative
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of interdisciplinary team and independently assume responsibility


Compensation: $55,000.00
