Transportation Care Coordinator

Job Overview

Transportation Workers are responsible for the transportation needs of clients following all applicable federal and state driving laws. Transportation Workers ensure that clients are safely transported to and from various locations related to their treatment needs, as well as maintain all applicable transportation documentation. Transportation Workers also support house functions such as transporting supplies to and from facilities, and cleaning and maintaining vehicles.  

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Responsibilities: Safely transports clients in an agency-provided vehicle following all applicable federal and state driving laws. Maintains appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.

Other Responsibilities:  Participates in the loading and unloading of food and supplies.

Vehicle Maintenance Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring routine vehicle maintenance including inspections, interior and exterior cleaning and pumping gas. Maintains all such documentation. 

Administrative Responsibilities: Maintains and prepares vehicle usage logs. Maintains accurate vehicle documentation with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.

DMC Follow-up Documentation: Timely documentation of client's medical, mental health and dental appointments into their Welligent chart for billing purposes.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Required:

  • Valid California Driver’s license
  • Ability to clear and maintain agency vehicle insurance coverage
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • AOD registered or certified


  • Valid California Class B Driver’s license

Background Clearance Required:

  • Physical exam plus negative TB screening
  • 1st Aid and CPR certification, live scan clearance


  • Ability to obtain and maintain background clearance with successful discharge from probation or parole, and absence of drug/alcohol related arrests or convictions, for at least 3 years

Knowledge Required:

  • Clear understanding of appropriate staff/participant boundaries
  • Knowledge of transportation equipment for physically disabled
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications

Compensation: $18.57
Type: Hourly/ Non-exempt
