In-Prison Treatment Programs

A program of HealthRIGHT 360

Behavioral health programs in California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation facilities.

HealthRIGHT 360 has operated treatment programs since the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation began funding the in-custody treatment initiative in 1996. The program provides substance use disorder treatment and counseling, mental health services, and related rehabilitative services that address the “thinking errors” common among incarcerated men and women, with the goals of preparing individuals to build healthy, responsible, and law abiding lifestyles after their release and return to our communities. All participants are encouraged and assisted to connect with continuing services (substance use disorder and mental health treatment, primary care, vocational and educational assistance, and housing assistance) in their destination communities.

HealthRIGHT 360 staff helps participants identify and connect to specific programs while they are still incarcerated, increasing their chances of getting the help they need immediately upon their release from prison. In turn, this greatly improves their changes for making a smooth, successful transition and avoiding relapse and recidivism.

Currently, HealthRIGHT 360 operates in-custody treatment programs at the following prisons:

  • Sierra Conservation Center (SCC), in Jamestown, CA
  • Corcoran State Prison (CSP-COR), in Corcoran, CA
  • Wasco State Prison (WSP), in Wasco, CA
