Services to Enhance Parolee Success (STEPS)

A program of Walden House

Reducing recidivism and reintegrating parolees into their communities

STEPS is a Day Reporting Center program that offers assessment, substance use disorder treatment, case management, informational workshops, educational and vocational assistance, safe housing referrals, and other essential services to parolees in San Francisco. The goals of STEPS are to reduce recidivism, to reintegrate parolees into their communities successfully, and to increase public safety through effective case planning and service provision.

STEPS uses a cognitive-behavioral approach to build participants’ skills and behavioral health resiliency. A Domestic Violence program is offered to parolees who are required to attend. STEPS has a Computer Literacy Learning Center - one of the resources available for GED preparation. A full-time Job Developer is available to meet individually with job seekers and to help them find well-paying, stable employment.
