Female Offender Treatment and Employment Program (FOTEP)

A Program of Walden House

The Female Offender Treatment and Employment Program provides residential treatment and re-entry programming for female parolees.

FOTEP programs provide a gender-responsive and trauma-informed environment, using evidence-based and best practices that recognize and account for the role that trauma frequently plays in the addictive and criminal histories of female offenders. This specialized treatment approach works with each woman holistically to address her health, emotional, educational, vocational, family and legal concerns alongside her substance abuse, mental health and behavioral issues.

Women have the opportunity to remain in program up to fifteen months or until they complete their term of parole.

Children at FOTEP

Women who participate in FOTEP are often able to reunite with their children, and may be eligible to participate in a residency program with their children (up to 12 years of age). This creates valuable opportunities for parenting education, family activities and therapy, and healthy bonding and growth within families.
