A Program of Prototypes
The Prototypes Housing Department provides housing and case management services for women and women with children through permanent housing and shelter bed contracts.
Our Pomona campus includes a 32-unit affordable housing complex (the S. Mark Taper Foundation Family Living Center), for low-income, (women and children only) families. We provide case management and counseling services to all families living within the complex, as well as in our off-site locations in the local community. Referrals are received from various service providers within LA County including treatment centers, housing authorities, DHS and SAPC. Individuals in the community are also able to call and be screened through the ACCESS Department for potential housing services.
Case managers provide assessment and service planning, link clients to important resources in the community, monitor progress and advocate for the client.
Prototypes Housing serves residents of Los Angeles County, and is contracted with Los Angeles County to provide services through the following housing support programs:
- Los Angeles County Recovery Bridge Housing (RBH) – This transitional housing service is available to some individuals who are currently enrolled in outpatient substance use disorder treatment through LA County’s Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC).
- Los Angeles County Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) – This county program serves individuals with behavioral health needs who are unhoused.
- Los Angeles County Continuum of Care (COC) – This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide long-term housing stability for unhoused families with disabilities.
